Located well outside of bustling metro-Manila, House of Many Moons is a domestic sanctuary to view the world in two modes: the terrascopic (horizontally out to the landscape) and the telescopic (vertically up to the heavens). The main living spaces are centrifugally arrayed around a pentagonal courtyard under an expansive roof, each it its own unique terrascopic view out to the horizon. As one descends to the lower level, the visitor is greeted with a monastic dome-like space by which the living quarters are centripetally organized. Each living quarter has a private enclosed garden with an open telescopic sky portal to the sky. Two of the living quarters, containing the master bedroom and the maid’s rooms, form a pair of pitched-roofed stone structures that, when viewed with the rest of the house, recalls familiarity and projects permanence.
